LIBRARY AND KNOWLEDGE RESOURCE CENTRE
About
University Education Commission (1948-49), under the chairmanship of Dr. S. Radhakrishnan stressed the importance of library in higher education by stating that “ Library is the heart of an Institution “. As such our college library and information centre supports teaching, learning and research activities of college with access to quality information resources and services. We strive to provide concordant atmosphere that may stimulate users to exploit library resources for self-education and intellectual growth.
Housed on the first floor of the college building, library has reading room-cum- circulation section, reference section, main stack room and journals section. Open access to all the library resources is accorded to or entire user community to ensure maximum out reach of our vast collection. Koha open-source integrated library system is used to automate the library functions and services. Along with the automation of library services, we have moved towards building up the digital repository of scholarly output of our institution using Dspace open-source software jointly developed by MIT libraries and Hewlett-Packard Labs.
Our motto is to be an effective intermediary between knowledge and knowledge seekers and thus help them to broaden their academic potentials, research skills, and culture of broad inquiry.
