Research Advisory Committee (RAC) and Code of Ethics in Research

Research Advisory Committee

As per the university order, each Research Centre should constitute a Research Advisory Committee (RAC) for ensuring the quality and smooth conduct of research process. The RAC of Farook Training College constitutes Principal, a Vice Chancellor nominee, Subject expert from the Department of Education, University of Calicut,  and two senior members of the faculty. Chairman of the committee is the Principal.

  3. Subject Expert : Prof. (Dr.) K.P. Meera, Professor, Department of Education, University of Calicut
  4. Senior Faculty : Dr. Mumthas N.S., Associate Professor, Farook Training College
  5. Senior Faculty : Dr. Hassan Koya M.P., Associate Professor, Farook Training College

The committee is constituted primarily to review the research proposal and to finalize the topic of research. The candidate cannot commence the research without the approval of RAC. It also guides the research scholar to develop the study design and methodology of research.

Every research scholar shall appear before the research advisory committee once in six months to a make a presentation of progress of his or her work for the evaluation and further guidance. The monthly progress report for the period of six month shall be submitted by the committee to the college with a copy of the same to the research scholar.

Each scholar has to appear for a pre-submission presentation of the thesis before a board consisting of Research Advisory committee. The committee analyses the presentations and makes suggestions, if any,  to be incorporated for the final report.

Code of Ethics in Research

  • Farook Training college promotes interdisciplinary research emphasizing education.
  • Research taken should be genuine and should contribute academically.
  • Research areas with productive outcomes are preferred.
  • The research findings may be disseminated to the academic community and the results should reach the target group under study.
  • The scholars may ensure the quality of the research work undertaken.
  • Scholars may exhibit higher standards of professional competence, integrity, scientific knowledge and commitment
  • Intellectual and moral honesty should be ensured throughout the process and reporting of the study.
  • Scholars should abstain from any kind of malpractices and plagiarism.
  • Scholars must stick on to the time schedule as directed by the university and research centre.
  • All the academic work done during the research period must be with the consent of the supervising guide.
  • Research should avoid unnecessary harm to the environment, documents and species involved.
  • Research should respect Human rights and dignity.
  • Research should respect intellectual property rights
  • Researchers may ensure the confidentiality of the research.
  • Members must take responsibility for their actions. They are expected to promote public transparency throughout the research process and adhere to research ethics.
